"The sweetest thing in all my life has been the longing —
to reach the Mountain, to find the place where all the beauty came from —
my country, the place where I ought to have been born. Do you think it all meant nothing,
all the longing? The longing for home? For indeed it now feels not like going, but like going back."

The beauty of a horse's soul

"You train horses, then?"

I nod. Sigh. No. I don't train horses. But I don't know how to tell you that.

"So, are you involved in a ministry?"

I shake my head. But yes. I am -- in horses. I don't know how to tell you that, either.

So I wrote about it, and it's a long essay, I understand that. But perhaps, if you want to understand what I see in my mare, Maia, when I brush her nose with my fingers every day, if you want to hear the journey I went on -- am still on -- in touching the horse's spirit in the kingdom of God, you will read it.
